Hindalco: profit down 10.7%, earnings up 14.4%

In the second quarter of fiscal year 2018, Hindalco's standalone profit has declined by 10.7 percent to Rs 393 crore. In the second quarter of fiscal year 2017, Hindalco's standalone profit was Rs 439.7 crore. Hindalco suffered a lump sum loss of Rs 105.5 crore in the second quarter of fiscal year 2018. In the second quarter of fiscal year 2017, Hindalco had a one-time profit of Rs 85 crore.

In the second quarter of fiscal year 2018, standalone income of Hindalco rose by 14.4 per cent to Rs 10,308 crore. Hindalco's standalone income was Rs 9,012 crore in the second quarter of fiscal year 2017. In the second quarter, Hindalco's standalone abitata has increased from Rs 1156.4 crore to Rs 1390 crore. In the second quarter, Hindalco's standalone debit margin has increased from 12.8 per cent to 13.5 per cent.

In the second quarter, the turnover of Hindalco's aluminum business has increased by 5.7 per cent to Rs 5,213 crore from Rs 4,930 crore. In the second quarter, the turnover of Hindalco's aluminum business has increased from Rs 807.6 crore to Rs 956.6 crore. In the second quarter, the income of Hindalco's Copper business increased by 10 percent to Rs 5,097 crore from Rs 4635 crore. The annual turnover of Hindalco's Copper business in the second quarter has increased from Rs 366 crore to Rs 466.6 crore.
